Each year hundreds of new chemicals and solvents are introduced, many of which may cause an adverse human health effect and, therefore, in need of data as to the concentration that may cause such an effect. OSHA requires employers to maintain accurate records of employee exposures to potentially toxic materials or harmful physical agents that are required to be monitored. Employers shall provide exposure monitoring of those employees to ensure that they are not being exposed to concentrations above OSHA permissible exposure limits.
